CPE SESSION 23 -
Wednesday, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Teaching Strategies
& Classroom Techniques 2002
Description/Objectives:
A workshop to demonstrate and share hands on teaching
strategies and techniques. This year, three strategies
will be demonstrated: (1) writing to learn, (2) using
peer evaluations to influence behaviors, and (3) using
a clinic (similar to a law school clinic) to teach technical,
communication, and critical thinking skills. Each strategy/technique
will be demonstrated with audience participation. There
will be a discussion of where the strategy/technique
might fit in the participants' current programs (both
graduate and undergraduate programs) and how the strategy/technique
meets the AICPA competency model. Participants are requested
to bring examples of how they have used the strategy/technique
to share with others in the workshop.
Format/Structure:
Hands-on demonstration and sharing of teaching strategies
