Experimental Research
in
Financial and Managerial Accounting
Description/Objectives:
In this workshop, which is based on our 2002 AAA Doctoral
Consortium presentations, we discuss the important roles
that experiments play in financial and managerial accounting
research. Additionally, we discuss frameworks for understanding
and assessing experimental research in Financial and
Managerial Accounting and, based on these frameworks,
synthesize and evaluate prior research in these areas.
Finally, we present numerous avenues and opportunities
for future experimental research in Financial and Managerial
Accounting.
Format/Structure:
Lecture format with interactive questions from participants.
Intended
Audience:
Faculty and Ph.D. students interested in conducting
or understanding experimental research in Financial
and/or Managerial Accounting.
