CPE SESSION 35 -
Wednesday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
New Delivery System
in Graduate Tax Education
Description/Objectives:
This workshop will examine the recent problems encountered
by traditional graduate tax programs, i.e., Type I (Academic)
and Type II (Professional). One presenter from each
type of program will illustrate how they developed their
new format (Executive Type Programs). They will demonstrate
how they effectively avoided problems with tax season,
dealt with accounting firms, and administratively worked
around their schools restrictions. They will share the
thrills they added to make the programs extremely enjoyable
and rewarding to students, as well as themselves.
Presenters
from other programs will demonstrate how they are using
the Internet to deliver their tax programs. An assessment
of their problems and the initial success of such delivery
and prospects for future will be examined.
The
objective of this session is for the attendee to determine
whether any of these new delivery systems would be effective
for their Master's in Accountancy and/or Taxation Program.
