Mark M. Chain
Mark M. Chain is the National Director of Recruiting and Human Resources
Management at Deloitte & Touche. He is a member of the Board of Directors
and President of the Deloitte Foundation.
Mark graduated from the
University of Notre Dame in 1978 and served audit clients of the Pittsburgh
office of Deloitte & Touche for 14 years. He was admitted as a partner of
Deloitte & Touche in 1988 and served primarily large and multinational
corporations. He also served as the International Services Coordinator and the
Professional Development Director in the Pittsburgh office. He relocated to
Wilton, Connecticut in 1992 to assume some of his present
responsibilities.
Mark is a CPA and a
member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the
Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and served for three
years on the Academic and Career Development Executive Committee of the
AICPA.
He has been active in
many professional and community organizations, including the United Way of
Allegheny County fund-raising campaigns and corporate volunteerism initiatives,
and has served on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southwest
Pennsylvania, Inc., and the National Advisory Forum of Beta Alpha Psi. Mark is
a member of several committees of the American Accounting Association and
serves as a member of the Accounting Programs Leadership Group Board of
Governors and the Board of Directors of the Federation of Schools of
Accountancy. He is past Chairman of the Accounting Advisory Board of Duquesne
University and is presently a member of the Accountancy Advisory Board of the
University of Notre Dame, the Leventhal School of Accounting Board of Advisors
of the University of Southern California, and the Accounting Advisory Board of
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mark and his wife, Deb,
reside in Ridgefield, Connecticut with their children, Rebecca, Sarah, and
Adam. Mark is an avid sports fan, particularly football and auto racing, and
enjoys playing golf.
