Seminar on International Accounting
Description/Objectives:
- Sensitize accounting faculty to the international
dimensions of accounting.
- Identify and discuss scholarly
research issues and opportunities.
- Assist instructors in designing
and teaching an international accounting course.
- Examine alternative approaches
to internationalizing a school’s accounting
curriculum and meeting expanded AACSB accreditation
requirements.
Topics covered include international
accounting patterns, capital market effects
of accounting differences, accounting harmonization,
transnational reporting issues, foreign currency
dilemmas, foreign inflation, international accounting
pedagogy, and more.
Format/Structure:
Teaching methods: lecture/discussion, overheads,
and handouts.
Intended Audience:
Accounting faculty and Ph.D. students.
