Meeting Placement Center
The American
Accounting Association maintains a Placement Center
at the Annual Meeting of the Association for the benefit
of its members. The center is located in the headquarters
hotel where individuals seeking positions and institutions
seeking faculty, or other related academic personnel,
can investigate opportunities of interest.
The Placement Center provides sets of resumes and position
announcements. Binders are available at the Placement
Center for perusal: one containing the resumes of individuals,
the other containing descriptions of positions. Position
books are divided into geographical sections. Resumes
and position announcements can be purchased individually
or in complete sets; position announcements are available
in geographical sets.
Please observe the following guidelines when preparing
and submitting electronic and hard copy of resumes or
position announcements for the placement service at
the AAA Annual Meeting in Hawaii.

Access to the Placement Center will be limited
to convention registrants displaying a 2003 convention
badge.

Submissions are limited to ONE PAGE ONLY. Both
position announcements and resumes must be printed
on ONE PAGE, ONE SIDE of white 8 1/2 by 11 inch
paper. Margins are not to be less than 1 inch on
all sides and type size may not be less than 10
point.

If you want your submission posted on the AAA web
site, an electronic version of your announcement
must be provided. Announcements submitted by the
deadline of June 23, 2003 have the option to be
posted on the web site. Announcements submitted
June 24 or later will not be posted on the web site.
Resumes and position announcements will be converted
to a PDF format for web posting. The postings will
remain on the AAA web site until November 1. NOTE:
Annual Meeting Placement submissions are not included
in The Accounting Review/Web Posting area. A separate
area of the web site is designated for Annual Meeting
Placements.

When preparing hard copy resumes and positions
announcements, please leave a blank area of at least
two-inches square in the upper right-hand corner
for processing.

Resumes should contain the following minimum information:
Academic credentials (degree, date, institution),
areas taught, research interests, experience, date
available, geographical preference, email address,
and convention address (if known).

Position announcements may follow any desired format
containing the following minimum information: areas
to be taught, minimum degree requirements, salary
range, undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities,
research and publication requirements, email address,
and convention address of recruiter (if known).

The fee must accompany all submissions; submissions
are not processed until payment is received.

Early submission
for the Annual Meeting Placement Service is closed.
Announcements can be submitted at the meeting during
the hours noted below in Item 9.
If you will
not be attending the meeting send one clear, reproducible
hard copy of your resume or announcement, a completed
2003 Placement Service Submission Form (http://aaahq.org/AM2003/2003PlacementForm.pdf

The Placement Center will be located in the Hilton
Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. It will
be open during the following hours:
Sunday: 10:30 AM - 12:00 Noon* and 2:00 PM - 5:30
PM
Monday: 8:00 AM - 12:15 PM; 1:45PM - 5:30 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 12:15 PM; 1:45PM - 5:30 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

A message center for placement service participants
is provided in the Placement Center, but must be
limited to messages and letters only. Those individuals
with resumes will automatically be assigned a message
box. Each participating institution will be assigned
one box, regardless of the number of positions it
offers. Participants are urged to pick up all messages
on Wednesday. Unclaimed messages will not be forwarded
unless advance arrangements are made.

There is no provision at the Placement Center for
distributing bulky materials such as catalogues,
brochures, etc.
