Description:
My institution provides a laptop computer for each of its students. This laptop program, along with the abundance of network outlets in classrooms and residence halls, facilitates the use of online resources in a traditional classroom. For the past three years WebCT has been used in my traditional accounting classes (Principles, Intermediate, and Income Tax) as a means of providing online resources, including learning resources, assignment submissions, and quizzes and exams.
Participants in this session will see examples of the use of WebCT, including:
- Various exam question types and their uses in accounting and income tax classes.
- Exam control features, settings, and student feedback.
- Online learning resources (ePacks and other publisher-prepared materials).
- The use of online assignments. Submissions include writing assignments, spreadsheets, and tax returns.
Benefits of online exams to both the instructor and the student will be presented. Similarities between WebCT exams and the computerized CPA exam will be highlighted.
