John Christensen

John ChristensenJohn Christensen is Professor of Accounting at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and has been a visiting fellow at Yale University. Currently he is chairing the faculty of the European KPMG Doctoral Colloquium in Accounting.

Professor Christensen's research interests focus on accounting issues in an information economics perspective. His work has been published in Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Management Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, and Bell Journal of Economics. He is coauthor of Accounting Theory: An Information Content Perspective, published by Irwin/McGraw-Hill in 2003.

Currently Professor Christensen is Associate Editor of European Accounting Review and Management Accounting Research and a member of the editorial board of Review of Accounting Studies. He is a member of the management committee of the European Accounting Association and is decorated Knight of the Order of Dannebrog.

Professor Christensen has served on the American Accounting Association's Notable Contributions to Accounting Literature Award Screening Committee and Program Advisory Committee, as well as on the editorial board of The Accounting Review and Journal of Management Accounting Research.
