Judy D. Rayburn
Judy Rayburn is Accounting Department Chair and the Carolyn I. Anderson Professor of Business Education at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She was Chair of the Program Advisory Committee for the 2000 Annual Meeting, and has served the AAA on various committees, including the Midwest Region Steering Committee and the New Faculty Consortium Committee. Judy is currently Vice President–Finance of the AAA and Chair of the Finance Committee.
Professor Rayburn earned a B.A. in History, a B.B.A. and Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Iowa and is a C.P.A. She teaches financial accounting in the undergraduate, M.B.A, Ph.D. and Executive Development programs at the Carlson School of Management. She has received the Carlson School of Management Undergraduate Teacher of the Year Award and been twice voted the Student Finance and Accounting Association Teacher of the Year.
Professor Rayburn's research focuses on the relation between accounting information and the valuation of equity instruments. She has served on the editorial board of the Accounting Review. Professor Rayburn has published articles in the Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Business, Canadian Journal of Economics and Contemporary Accounting Research.
