Session 9
Case Teaching and Lectures via CDs and Their Effectiveness in the Introductory Accounting Course for M.B.A.s

Presenter:
Aundrea Kay Guess, St. Edward’s University

Description:
The use of cases in the Introductory Accounting course for M.B.A.s has proven to be a very effective tool. This course covers both financial and managerial accounting in a 13-week session. Students read a book prior to the beginning of class and they have lectures via CD’s. The use of cases involves the students in the learning process in a way that allows them to understand how accounting is useful in decision making in actual companies. Student course evaluations state the course is challenging, interesting, and fun.
