Description/Objectives:
Course Level: Basic/Intermediate/Update
Course Objectives: The primary intent of the course is to identify and review the critical stages of the comprehensive financial-planning process including their development, implementation and ongoing monitoring. Additionally, the course is designed to develop and enhance participants’ knowledge about the Academy of Financial Services (AFS) and Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) New Model Financial-Planning Curriculum.
Special Features: The course provides individual participants an opportunity to learn how to develop and implement comprehensive financial-planning programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in compliance with the CFP Board’s Registration Requirements.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of accounting, finance, and federal taxation
Format/Structure:
Lecture, group discussions, and problem solving (opportunities to excel)
Intended Audience:
The primary audience of the program is accounting, financial, and business educators who are considering and/or who currently offer academic courses and/or programs in comprehensive financial planning.
