Sherry Mills

Sherry Mills Sherry Mills received her Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas Tech University and has published articles in a number of journals including Advances in Accounting Education, Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Accountancy, and Critical Perspectives in Accounting.

She has been an innovator in the development of cohesion cases, active learning exercises, cross-disciplinary course development, integrated group business plan projects, electronic student portfolios, and student use of electronic response pads.

She has been the recipient of New Mexico State University's Westhafer Award for Teaching Excellence, 2003 (the highest university honor available); Carnegie Foundation, New Mexico Professor of the Year award, 2002; New Mexico Society of CPAs Accounting Educator of the Year award, 1999; American Accounting Association's Award for Innovation in Accounting Education, 1996; Southwest Business Deans Association's Award for Instructional Innovation, 1996; Outstanding Teacher Award, College of Business Administration and Economics, New Mexico State University, 1993; Boeing's Innovation in Teaching Award, American Accounting Association, 1993; and New Mexico State University's Burlington Resources Faculty Achievement Award, New Mexico State University, 1993.

Sherry is a member of American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, Beta Alpha Psi, and Beta Gamma Sigma.
