Abstract: Technology is now available in schools and universities around the country. The No Child Left Behind Act includes grants and programs aimed at increasing the use of IT in the classroom. Meanwhile, no study has shown that the use of IT in the classroom significantly increases student learning. An experiment was performed with undergraduate accounting students. One group attended a lecture and was asked to take a quiz on the material presented. The second group attended the same lecture but also had personal response radio signal devices that allowed them to answer questions interactively and receive immediate feedback. This group was given the same quiz. The second group had slightly higher scores, but the only significant results were those showing the second group had a higher satisfaction level than the first.
