Description/Objectives:
This session brings attendees up to speed on the concepts and tools of continuous auditing and describes the lessons learned by the presenter from pilot implementations his team, in collaboration with KPMG, developed with internal auditors at pioneering Fortune 100 companies.
- The state of continuous assurance in 2005: historical trends, survey evidence on current practice and implementation hurdles, demand for CA, auditor/assuror independence.
- Continuous monitoring of business process controls at Siemens: using CA in a 404 environment.
- Control tags: enriching internal control with XML tagging for data level assurance.
- Advanced analytics in CA: continuity equations modeling for supply chain assurance at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
