Applied Financial Statement Analysis
Description/Objectives:
The applied nature of our workshop necessarily involves the use of financial analysis software. The two key software tools are eVal and Factset Research Systems. eVal is an Excel-based financial analysis and valuation software package authored by us and published by McGraw-Hill/Irwin. Factset Research Systems is a leading provider of financial information to the investment community. (We have no financial interest in Factset.) We intend to use teaching cases incorporating these tools to illustrate the application of financial statement analysis theory. We will identify other tools that could be used as substitutes and will not distribute promotional material.
