Using Real-World Corporate Cases in Teaching Financial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis
Description/Objectives:
The workshop will cover examples of using real-world companies' annual reports in teaching Financial and Intermediate Accounting, and Financial Statement Analysis. A CD containing an elaborate six-part student handout, which includes ratios, predictive models, and disclosure adequacy scores, will be distributed to each participant and discussed in the workshop. The benefits of this methodology—to both students and instructors—will also be discussed.
