ABSTRACT. In this case, students (1) prepare a system flowchart and a business process diagram to represent current and contemplated business processes in the supply chain of a convenience store company and (2) use the graphical representations of the business processes to make inferences about the behavior of the two approaches to managing the supply chain. Consistent with emerging business practice, the case features business process modeling as a productive approach to modeling business processes. The case is appropriate as a learning experience for students developing skills in documenting business processes and as an assessment of students’ mastery in representing business processes and making inferences about processes. The case is appropriate for accounting information systems (AIS) and business courses in which business process modeling skills are developed or applied.
