An Overview of Web 2.0 and Accounting Information Systems

ABSTRACT. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a wave of new web technologies named Web 2.0 to accounting professionals. We identify the relevance and importance of Web 2.0 new technologies to accounting and accounting information systems. We also discuss the opportunities and implications that Web 2.0 may bring to accounting practice.
