Yvette J Lazdowski, Argosy University and Plymouth State University

ABSTRACT. The Ford Motor Company revolutionized manufacturing with its innovative production techniques early in the 20th century. In October, 1908, American society was irrevocably changed when the Model T was affordably sold to the masses, and the era of the automobile began. Henry Ford's accomplishments resulted from mechanical genius and determination in a developing industrial age that was increasingly reliant on maximizing the principles of management accounting on a large scale. This paper attributes the success of the Ford Motor Company on the principles of management accounting, mass production, and the application of scientific management.
