Sixteenth Annual Research Workshop on:
Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies in Accounting, Auditing and Tax

(Specialized Knowledge & Applications)

Description/Objectives:
The objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for accounting researchers to present their work to and exchange ideas with interested colleagues. Early stage papers are encouraged as well as more developed research and completed papers (not yet published). A June 1st submission date aims to facilitate the inclusion of the most recent work. The workshop includes opportunities for substantial interaction among participants.

Artificial Intelligence Areas: including topics such as, expert systems, neural networks, case-based reasoning, machine learning, natural language processing, and intelligent agents. Emerging Technology Areas: including, but not limited to, security, image processing, Internet and other networks, training, technology competency, electronic commerce, workflow technology, data mining, group technologies, continuous assurance, voice recognition, and wireless connectivity.

Research Issues: including topics such as literature reviews, task selection, knowledge acquisition, processing and representation, uncertainty, integration, intelligent databases, validation and verification, changes in usage, innovative uses, impacts on organizations, management, education, practice, and legal implications.
