Hands on Applications of REA Accounting Systems

Description/Objectives:
This session will introduce participants to computer-based activities that can be incorporated into AIS courses that have REA components. The participants will work with an Access database to produce financial statements without journal entries (updated Ventura Vehicles), they will work with advanced database case with online delivery tools (KaDo) used in graduate classes, and they will explore the first commercially available REA-base system, Workday. This session will be held in a computer laboratory, and participants will actually work on the projects either individually or in small groups. All materials will be provided to the participants so they could adopt similar activities for their own classes.
