Annual Meeting Placement Center

Supporting Accounting Program Communities

The American Accounting Association’s Placement Center at the 2007 Annual Meeting will be located in the headquarters hotel, the Hilton Chicago. This is the place where applicants seeking positions and institutions seeking faculty and other academic staff can make connections.

For those seeking positions and candidates, the Annual Meeting is an exciting and challenging process. To better support participants in the Placement Center this year, new tools and services will be available for position seekers and recruiting institutions. Previous Placement Center participants will enjoy a host of new features.

New for 2007
  • Introducing — AAA Career Fair!
    The AAA Career Fair will be a new opportunity to network, share materials, and highlight or learn about institutions recruiting, or planning to recruit in the near future. Scheduled for Sunday from 4:00-7:00 pm to overlap the Early Bird Reception, this new event will provide a broad opportunity for recruiting institutions to interact with potential candidates. Access to the AAA Career Fair is free to all conference attendees. Learn more about the AAA Career Fair!

  • Privacy Enhancements
    Online access to Placement Center position announcements will be restricted to Annual Meeting registrants, who will receive login information via email. Onsite access to Placement Center materials will be limited to enrolled Placement Center participants who have submitted either a Position Announcement or Resume/Vita. Enrolled participants will receive a Placement Center Passport upon arrival at the registration desk.

  • Interview Tables
    Institutions will have the option to reserve an interview table in the Placement Center, where interviews may be conducted and materials may be kept available and displayed.
2007 Placement Center Guidelines
  • Access to the Placement Center will be limited to enrolled Placement Center participants who must submit either a Position Announcement or Resume/Vita. Placement Center Passports will be given to all enrolled participants.
  • Placement Center Passports and Name Badges will be required for entry into the Placement Center. Badges are provided to all AAA Annual Meeting registrants.
This Year the Placement Center Offers
  • Online access to Annual Meeting Placement Position listings for Annual Meeting registrants prior to and following the meeting until November 1, 2007.
  • Online submission process for applicants and employers.
  • Weekly updates of the Placements database prior to the Annual Meeting dates.
  • Onsite computer access to position announcements and resumes for enrolled participants.
  • Printer and copier for enrolled Placement Center participants.
  • Bulletin boards for enrolled Placement Center participants to post schedules.
