The Ernst & Young Academic Resource Center: Managing the wave of accounting change in the classroom and an overview of supporting curriculum resources

Description: Are you trying to navigate the wave of accounting change under US GAAP and the integration of IFRS in your classroom? Are you trying to find high-quality, current curriculum resources to support you in this effort? If so, this CPE session might be helpful to you!

Members of the Ernst & Young Academic Resource Center (EYARC) and other faculty users of EYARC resources from top national programs will provide their insights on various approaches to managing the wave of accounting change in the classroom in regards to US GAAP and the integration of IFRS. Participants will be encouraged to share ideas, questions and concerns for collaborative discussion on these topics as well.

EYARC members will provide a detailed overview of the curriculum and other resources freely available through the EYARC including a walkthrough of the private faculty EYARC website. Attendees will also be led through a sample of curriculum deliverables such as behind the scenes documents (conceptual learning), case studies and international spotlights (judgement cases focusing on leading-edge business, economic and accounting issues). Lastly, participants will cover a comprehensive US GAAP IFRS case.

Intended Audience: Faculty desiring gain insights into managing accounting change for their classroom and supporting resources. Faculty should have a strong understanding of US GAAP and ideally, a foundational level understanding of IFRS.

Learning Objective: This session will assist faculty in gaining insight into ways to address the wave of accounting change for their classroom from both a US GAAP and IFRS standpoint. This session will also help faculty to gain detailed insight into resource materials freely available through the EYARC.
