The American Taxation Association (ATA) was founded in 1974 and joined the American Accounting Association (AAA) in 1978 as the Tax Section of the AAA. Memberships and student memberships are open to persons with an interest in tax education and research. To learn more about our objectives, please see ATA objectives. Under the guidance of the President Lillian Mills, the ATA's committees provide a wide variety of services to the ATA membership. Please see the Committees page for more information.
News & Announcements
Papers accepted for the 2010 JATA Conference are now available online. Research papers, powerpoint slides, workshop materials and other resources from this year's meeting are also available on the ATA Section Meeting 2010 hive of the AAA Commons, where members may post comments and join related discussions. If you are already logged into the AAA Commons that link will take you directly to the meeting page (otherwise you will need to first login then either use the link or find your way to the meeting page by first going to "American Taxation Association Members," under my communities, then finding the meeting link on the lower right hand side).
Calls for nominations for the 2010 Distinguished Contributions to Accounting Literature Award (offered jointly by the AICPA and the AAA) and the 2010 Notable Contributions to Accounting Literature Award (offered by the AAA) are due by January 31 (posted January 5, 2010)
2010 Midyear Meeting and JATA Conference registration and hotel information is now available
The Ernst & Young Foundation has again supported PhD student attendance at the ATA's Midyear Meeting and JATA Conference by providing a $5,000 JATA Conference Travel Grant; PhD students attending the conference are encouraged to apply for the grant online
2010 Doctoral Consortium application and program information is now available
The ATA mourns the sudden death of Marty Escoffier, husband of Shirley Dennis-Escoffier and friend of the ATA. (posted 9/17/2009)

The Call for Nominations for ATA Officers, Trustees, and Publications Committee Members for 2010-2011 has been posted on the ATA website. Who you would like to see in ATA leadership positions?
