Volunteer to Serve
Before the Annual meeting in August 2012, volunteers will need to be identified for several positions including regional liaisons for 2012-2013. Regional liaisons work with their regional meeting's coordinator to handle the review process for any papers related to Diversity and they serve to encourage diversity activities in their regions. If you are interested email Amelia Baldwin at amelia.baldwin@uafs.edu.
Also, by the time of Annual meeting in August 2012, two 2014 mid-year meeting coordinators need to be identified. No, that's not a typo. The midyear meetings are planned well in advance because of the need for logistics with hotels and such. These volunteers need to be identified well advance so they can shadow the coordinators in the prior year and see what sort of decisions are being made and when (The AAA staff are great at helping out with timelines and deadlines!). This is definitely a two person job. Generally, one person handles the hotel logistics and one person handles the submissions and program logistics. If you are interested in serving, contact Amelia Baldwin at amelia.baldwin@uafs.edu.
Other volunteer opportunities are available. Just ask!
