Mission Statement

The mission of the Information Systems Section of the American Accounting Association is to create and disseminate knowledge of accounting information systems and all aspects of information technologies as they relate to accounting by promoting excellence in research, teaching, and practice.  The section encourages and supports new scholars and educators in the field. (As Approved by Membership August 2004)

International Symposium on Auditing Research (ISAR)

Registration is now open for the 16th Annual International Symposium on Audit Research (ISAR 2010), which will be hosted by the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University on 24 and 25 June in Singapore. The program has two panels, 25 academic papers and a plenary session. The first panel is on "Is Regulation Necessary to Ensure High Audit Quality?" with James Gunn, International Federation of Accountants; Steven Maijoor, Maastricht University and the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), Chair, International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) and Juthika Ramanathan, Chief Executive, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Singapore. The second panel is on "Perspectives on Audit Education" with senior audit educators and researchers Bill Kinney and Ira Solomon. The plenary session is on "Recent Developments in Judgment and Decision Making Research: Implications for Auditing" with J. Frank Yates of the University of Michigan.
