| ABSTRACT: Electronic
Data Interchange (EDI) offers to business firms the opportunity to improve
productivity by utilizing electronic transaction processing as an integral
part of business strategy. EDI may become particularly valuable in enhancing
management information and control. This paper outlines the foundations
of EDI and presents the results of a 1988 survey on the use of EDI by
U.S. firms. |
