Perspectives on Students' Teaching Evaluations of AIS Courses

Vasant Raval

SYNOPSIS:

Although no scientific evidence is available, compelling arguments can be made to suggest that teaching effectiveness issues involved in an Accounting Information Systems (AIS) course are complex and multidimensional. This paper constructs a framework for examination of Student Evaluations of Teaching (SET). SET for AIS courses are viewed in light of the perceptions students have about the course and the instructor. In addition, suggestions are made that could help improve the equity of evaluations of AIS instruction and instructors.
