Annual Meeting Running/Walking Group

If you want to run or walk outside during the annual meeting and blow off the treadmills, a running/walking group is being planned for the fifth straight year so that you can be assured of having other AAA people to accompany you, regardless of whether you are fast or slow.  Please show up by 5:35 a.m. outside the main Hyatt entrance any morning from Monday through Wednesday during the annual meeting if you wish to participate.  The “shove off” time is 5:45 a.m., so that people can get back and attend meeting activities. Whether you received and filled out the initial survey or not, you are welcome to join us; that was done for purposes of assessing where the pace/distance clusters are.

This year, there is also an opportunity to run/walk in a 5K on Sunday morning right outside the hotels. Please note that this is a race that you must register and pay for on your own.  Just click HERE for more information and to register for the “Accrual Team of AAA Runners” Team that has been started when you start the registration process.  You will see Melissa Beran Samuelson as the team captain and will know that you are in the right place.

By the way, this group is open to all who are there because of the annual meeting.  Please feel free to bring along your non-AAA travel companions as well, or send them our way if you’re not participating.  We will be happy for them to join us.  Although the AAA supports this effort enthusiastically, it is informal and no one needs to register for it; just show up and have fun while mitigating the damage that travel can inflict on your normal fitness routine.  You might meet some people that you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

The area around the hotel offers excellent options, but below are links to some suggested routes right close to the hotels.  Whatever your goal, the hope is that we have others there who share that goal, so let’s have a good turnout!
