    The 2017 Management Accounting Section Meeting will be held January 5-7, 2017 at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The meeting will include the Research Conference, IMA Doctoral Colloquium and Teaching Symposium.

  • San Juan Key Travel Facts

    • United States Citizens don’t need a passport to enter the island. Spanish and English are the official languages. Most Puerto Ricans speak English.

    • The United States dollar is the official currency. Puerto Rico is in the Atlantic Time Zone, which is 1 hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST), and identical to Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

    • The phone system is the same as in the U.S. The Island‘s area codes are 787 and 939.

2017 MAS/IMA Doctoral Colloquium

The IMA Doctoral Colloquium is open to all doctoral students, at any stage in their degree, whose research interest is management accounting. Participants in prior colloquiums are eligible and encouraged to participate again. However, space might be limited and, if necessary, priority will be given to more senior students.

There is no cost for attending the colloquium, and students attending the colloquium are automatically registered for the conference. In addition, the first 50 colloquium attendees to apply will have Wednesday night's stay (Wednesday and Thursday nights’ stay if participants share a room with another participant) at the conference hotel reimbursed by the American Accounting Association (AAA).
