Call For Reviewers -- Georgia SaemannThe Teaching and Curriculum Section (T&C) of the AAA has the privilege and responsibility of selecting papers and organizing sessions in accounting education research for the annual AAA convention. For the 2001 meeting, I have been asked to head-up the T&C effort in meeting this responsibility. I need your help. We are expecting 75 to 100 submissions and we need people to review the papers. Initial submissions are due from authors by January 11th. With the help of an editorial review committee I will send out all of the papers for review by January 19th, and I must receive evaluations of all of the papers from reviewers by February 19th. This very quick turnaround is dictated to us by the overall convention planning committee. The paper evaluations are less extensive than those one would prepare for papers being considered for journal publication. A reviewer's task is to address the question of whether or not a paper is worthy of presentation at the convention. I will ask reviewers to comment on the relevance of the topic, importance of the subject matter, and the clarity of the writing. For empirical papers, you might also comment on the theoretical development, research design, analysis and appropriateness of the conclusions. Based on these criteria, the reviewer will rank the paper. So, I'm asking for your help. Will you be a reviewer for T&C? The more reviewers we have the less work we'll each have to do; I hope to send only two papers to each reviewer. Please help T&C, the AAA, the editorial review committee, and me by replying affirmatively. Finally, whether or not you can help as a reviewer, I hope that you will send us a paper. Remember that we consider all types of papers - empirical, non-empirical, cases, etc.
