News from the Mid-Atlantic RegionThe Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference was a great success in the Teaching and Curriculum area, in fact the conference theme focused on Changes in Accounting Education. The CPE sessions held on Thursday were geared toward a number of faculty, course, and student development areas, such as: Internet skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills, classroom presentations, and computer use in courses. In addition, during the conference, several panel discussions and presentation sessions addressed teaching and curriculum issues, including: technology and the classroom, problem solving and critical thinking skills, faculty research and development, Internet support and resources, professional organizations and education, communication skills, marketing accounting programs, and accounting education models. Overall, we learned some new, interesting perspectives, identified some thought-provoking issues, and had a great time attending the conference. |
