Using the Classroom toEnhance Research Productivity and Motivate Students to Pursue the CPAExamination
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the fundamentals of research and publication from the viewpoint of faculty employed at schools with mission statements that focus primarily on teaching and professional service. By focusing on the unique environment of these institutions, this integrated workshop will also provide resources and strategies useful in motivating students to pursue and successfully complete the CPA exam. The participants will receive updated information about the new CPA Computerized Exam.

A set of skills-based competencies needed for entry into the profession have been defined and widely discussed within academe. This session will demonstrate the web-based evaluation tools created to help faculty integrate these requisite skills into their curricula.

3. Colloquium on Change in Accounting Education - October 30–November 2, 2002

The sixth annual Colloquium on Change in Accounting Education, sponsored by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), will be held October 30th through November 2nd, 2002, in Sedona, Arizona. Our 2002 program theme, Accounting Education at the Crossroads, is designed to consider the challenges faced by accounting educators in the landmark study entitled Charting the Course through a Perilous Future.
