Committee Reports
ANNUAL MEETING COMMITTEE
Tim Fogarty, Chair
Doug Prawitt asked me to jump back into the seat that I occupied last year, as the T&C Section Program Committee Liaison. I am honored to be asked to serve in this capacity. I am happy to report that most of the hard work had already been done by my predecessor, Tom Edmonds. The papers have been selected and the sessions have been organized. Thanks to the usual willingness to volunteer by the T&C membership, all the appropriate volunteers have been secured. All indications are that the section will have a very strong representation in Orlando in August. Please go out of your way to attend the paper and panel sessions that will be offered. Also, do not miss the T&C Section breakfast.

I think we can feel good about the winning manuscript. It is a good paper.
Events Sponsored
The Section sponsored an ice cream social. We had approximately 24 people in attendance. I enjoyed organizing the event with Dee Strahan and Nan from the AAA. They were very helpful in making the final arrangements and helping us control costs. I I highly recommend doing the ice cream socials in the future. We had good attendance and those who attended had a nice time.
There were also 2 T&C related panel sessions.
Recommended Activity for 2005 Regional Meeting
I think the ice cream socials are a nice tradition, and if not cost prohibitive. I think they should be continued. They are a nice way to interact with fellow section members.
Other Comments
I enjoyed the opportunity to serve the section. I have tried to establish the organization that will make it easier for future officers. I took over as Regional Director without the benefit of first serving as Associate Director. One of my priorities has been to get the region staff moving forward so that it will be easier for the incoming officers to perform their responsibilities with greater continuity. I'm confident Marc Giulian and Kim Charron will do a great job for the Western Region in the coming years.
I would be pleased to serve the teaching and curriculum section in other capacities moving forward.
