A Message from the Chair

Kevin D. Stocks,
Brigham Young University

Anytime I find myself in a leadership role, I try to follow the advice I received years ago, "Get good people involved and help identify an interesting project, then get out of the way." It has been a pleasure this year to work with so many good people whose efforts make T&C Section successful. As we look towards the meetings in August to be held in San Diego, I note the number of sessions sponsored by the T&C Section and encourage member attendance at these sessions. Bill Schwartz and members of the Program Committee are to be commended for their work.

Our annual business meeting will be at 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 16. In addition to receiving reports from each of the Section committees, we will vote on new officers for next year and discuss the proposed changes in Section by-laws. I appreciate the feedback I have received on the proposed changes in the by-laws. Your comments are still welcomed. Put this meeting on you schedule. Your input and participation is important.

This year we have organized a Section breakfast to be held in conjunction with the annual meeting on Tuesday morning, August 17. Acting on suggestions from Section members, this breakfast provides members an opportunity to meet and discuss areas of mutual interest. I encourage each of you sign up to come and join me at this breakfast.

I want to take the opportunity to recognize those individuals who chaired Section committees this year. They have done a great job and I look forward to hearing there reports.
