Letter from the Editor

This issue of the Reporter begins with a letter from the chair, Charlie Bailey, which includes a summary of recent section events.

We would all like to thank Rich Houston (University of Alabama) for his work on the 2004 Research Conference in Chicago. The conference was a great success and this newsletter contains a report on the conference, as well as a number of photos. Also included is a biography for Professor Kenneth Merchant (University of Southern California) who was honored at the conference by receiving the 2003 ABO Notable Lifetime Contribution Award in Behavioral Accounting Literature. Finally, in this issue we have a number of Announcements and Calls for Papers from both conferences and journals.
