A Letter from the Editor

Dear ABO Section Member:

This issue of the ABO Reporter begins with a letter from the chair, Stacy Kovar, which enthusiastically reminds us that we have a birthday to celebrate! Stacy also discusses new developments of the mid-year meeting, including emerging scholars sessions that were instituted in 2005 and some planned modifications to the 2006 research sessions. Highlights of the 2005 ABO conference, including awards granted and wonderful panel session discussions, are also included in this issue. Finally, there are numerous Announcements and Calls for Papers from both conferences and journals.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Editor of the ABO Reporter. I knew that my experience as the Editor of the Scorpion Newspaper at Farmington High School would serve me well…eventually. Seriously, I welcome any input regarding the Reporter and am particularly interested in ideas about newsletter content that might be of interest to ABO Section members.
