An important responsibility of Council is to select members to serve on the AAA Nominations Committee (made up of five members elected by Council and the two most recent Past Presidents of the AAA). As in the past, there will be nominations submitted by Council members during the Council meeting on Saturday, March 24. In addition, we invite all members of the Association to submit names of candidates to serve on the 2012-2013 Nominations Committee.

Nominations received by 12:00 pm EST on Friday, March 16, will be included along with the nominations received from the Council in the list of individuals from which the five committee members will be selected. Both in the pre-meeting nomination process and from the floor, those nominating will be asked to specify up to five reasons their nominee would be a great choice to serve on the Nominations Committee. Nominees need not agree to serve before being nominated by a member. There will be two alternates chosen in case one of the five selected members is unable to serve. The elected nominees must be full members of the AAA. They may not be current members of either the Council or the Board of Directors. As a reminder, per the AAA Bylaws, members of the Nominations Committee are not eligible to be nominated to any position voted on by the committee.
