Committee on Accounting
Education
(Standing Committee of the Association)
Charge:
Serve as the coordinating committee for all Association
activities that involve education. Specifically:
- Monitor education
activities of relevant organizations such as the AICPA, IIA,
IMA, IFAC and coordinate with those organizations, as
appropriate.
- Develop and issue
position statements on matters related to accounting
education.
- Develop and
recommend to the Executive Committee educational policies
for the Association.
- Inform the
Executive Committee concerning the problem of declining
numbers of accounting doctoral students, and suggest any
actions the Association should consider in this regard.
- Coordinate the
activities of the Association in the field of accounting
education through effective liaisons with sections and
regions.
- Coordinate the
work of education designated committees, specifically the
Assessment Committee, the New Faculty Consortium Planning
Committee, the Innovations in Accounting Education Award
Committee, the Two-Year Interaction Committee, the Doctoral
Fellowships Committee, and the Corporate Accounting Policy
Seminar Committee.
- Work with the
Research Advisory Committee, the Director of Faculty
Development, regions, sections and the Program Advisory
Committee to suggest, coordinate, conduct and evaluate CPE
sessions at national, regional and section meetings and
through other delivery venues.
- Work with the
Research Advisory Committee, the Faculty Development
Committee, and the Director of Faculty Development to
develop, coordinate and implement the Association's faculty
development activity.
- Provide the
Executive Committee, through the designated liaison person,
reports on the committee's activities for each Executive
Committee meeting (dates to be determined).
