Globalization Initiatives
Committee
2000 East-Asia Accounting Roundtable
Charge:
Advise the Executive Committee on
ways to increase networking and faculty development opportunities for AAA
members and others throughout the world interested in scholarly exchange.
Specifically:
1. Undertake the following
activities concerning the Globalization Conferences:
a. Report on the 2000
AAA/BAA Second Globalization Conference in Cambridge.
b. Assist the AAA President in
organizing and implementing the 2001 AAA/Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft Conference
on Cross-Border Mergers and other Alliances in Berlin.
2. Identify alliances with
other international organizations that could provide incremental benefit to
members of participating organizations.
3. Gather information on
international activities sponsored by other international organizations. Use
the AAA web site to disseminate this information to AAA members.
4. Work with AAA sections to
identify international activities that would benefit a broad cross-section of
AAA members.
5. Develop a position
description for the AAA Vice-President - International.
6. Work with AAA
Vice-Presidents of Sections & Regions, Education and Research to develop
faculty development opportunities for AAA members interested in
internationalizing their teaching and/or research.
7. Provide a progress report
to the Executive Committee liaison in time to be included in the agenda book
for each Executive Committee meeting.
