The Artificial Intelligence/Emerging Technologies Section strives to
encourage application of the techniques of these two areas to accounting
research, teaching and practice. Artificial intelligence includes the
sub-fields of knowledge-based systems, neural networks, and heuristic problem
solving; emerging technologies include (among others) the Internet, the World
Wide Web, electronic commerce, work-group and work-flow technology, and
interactive multimedia. More specific objectives for the section are:
