2006–2007 AAA TASK FORCE COMMITTEES

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND STRUCTURE
TASK FORCE COMMITTEE

Charge:

Development of new information and communications technologies (ICT) has shifted the economics of intellectual property. As with other academic associations, production of intellectual property has been, and can be expected to continue to be, a major activity of the AAA membership.

The Intellectual Property and Structure Task Force will examine the new environment in which intellectual property is created and disseminated. Technological, economic, financial, organizational, competitive, and intellectual consequences of the changes in ICT and intellectual property on the AAA and its members will be considered. The Task Force will make recommendations as they relate to the organizational and financial structure of the AAA, AAA current and future publication/intellectual content creation and dissemination and any other relevant issues that arise during their deliberations.

The Task Force will report its findings, conclusions and recommendations to the President of the AAA who will distribute them to the Executive Committee, the Council and the membership of the AAA for their respective consideration.
