2008–2009 AAA TASK FORCES
AND TEAMS
STRATEGY MANAGEMENT TEAM
Charge:
The Strategy Management Team will serve as an advisory group supporting the Core Strategy Team and the Executive Committee (EC) in their responsibility for Association strategic planning. The Team will facilitate implementation of AAA strategic plans by:
- Participating in the process of renewing strategic plans.
- Assisting in setting priorities for plan implementation on an annual basis.
- Scanning the environment for opportunities and threats that impact the AAA’s strategic plan and its members.
- Assisting in planning the agenda for the annual Executive Committee’s strategic planning retreat.
Membership:
There are seven members on the Team. Two team members are appointed by the President-Elect each year to serve for three-year terms. The President-Elect is the Executive Committee liaison. The VP Sections and Regions is a permanent member of this committee. The President-Elect and the Executive Director will agree on the appointment of the chair of the committee from among the members of the committee.
Meeting:
This committee meets as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Team’s focus and analysis should be set in the context of the AAA’s current strategic priorities:
- Membership Growth
- Membership Fulfillment
- AAA Commons
- Strategic Relationships
- Long-run AAA process toward globalization
- Providing input to the Executive Director and the Executive Committee on a timely basis and in advance of the annual strategic planning session.
- The Chair prepares and sends a progress report twice every term-year, with deadlines of October 29th 2008 and March 4th 2009, to the Executive Committee Liaison, AAA President, and Executive Director regarding accomplishments or modifications.
