2009–2010 AAA COMMITTEES
Membership Advisory Committee
Charge:
Advise the staff and Executive Committee on membership services for all current and potential members of the Association. Specifically:
- To encourage new faculty to become actively involved in the association early in their careers.
- To promote interaction among academics and accounting practitioners on shared interests through active involvement in AAA.
- To sustain membership interest of members who are retired or nearing retirement.
- To assess membership satisfaction levels and recommend actions as appropriate.
- To determine reasons for the rather significant number of non-member accounting faculty.
- To determine reasons for the large decline in practice members.
- To provide a progress report to the Executive Committee liaison in time to be included in the agenda book for each Executive Committee meeting.
Membership:
New committee members are appointed annually by the President.
Meetings:
The committee will meet as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfill the committee charger above.
- The Chair prepares and sends a progress report twice every term-year, with deadlines of October 23rd 2009 and February 26th 2010, to the Executive Committee Liaison, AAA President, and Executive Director regarding accomplishments or modifications.
