2010-2011 AAA TASK FORCES AND TEAMS
Intellectual Property II Task Force
Developments related to creation of intellectual property and the publishing environment are shifting the delivery and economics of intellectual property. As with other academic associations, production of intellectual property has been, and can be expected to continue to be, a major activity of the AAA membership.
Charge
- Examine the shifting environment in which intellectual property is created and disseminated.
- Consider technological, economic, financial, organizational, competitive, and intellectual consequences of the changes in publishing and intellectual property on the AAA and its members.
Membership
- New task force members are appointed annually by the AAA President.
Meetings
- The Task Force meets as needed.
Responsibilities
- The Task Force will make recommendations as they relate to the organizational and financial structure of the AAA, AAA current and future publication/intellectual content creation and dissemination and any other relevant issues that arise during their deliberations.
- The Chair will have the opportunity three times every term-year to prepare and send a progress report which will be available for the Executive Committee to review at their next meeting. This report should include accomplishments and suggested modifications and should be sent to the AAA President, the committee’s Executive Committee Liaison, and staff liaison, Barbara Gutierrez (barbara.gutierrez@aaahq.org).
