Publications Committee

(Standing Committee of the Association)

Charge
The Publications Committee shall monitor and coordinate all aspects of the Association's publications. Specifically:

• Evaluate and monitor trends in electronic publishing.
• Recommend methods and timing for the electronic publication of the Association's journals.
• Monitor and recommend means of maintaining the economic viability of the Association's publications.
• Recommend changes in the Association's publications as deemed appropriate.

Membership

• The Publications Committee shall consist of seven members including the Vice President-Publications who will serve as Chair.
• The committee members shall have staggered three-year terms, with two members being appointed each year by the President-Elect.

Meetings

• The Publications Committee shall meet at least two times annually.

Responsibilities

• Study and report to the President and Executive Committee on all matters of concern in the field of publications.
• Recommend a slate of candidates to the Executive Committee for its consideration when appointing the Managing Editors of The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, and Issues in Accounting Education.
• The Chair will have the opportunity three times every term-year to prepare and send a progress report which will be available for the Executive Committee to review at their next meeting.   This report should include accomplishments and suggested modifications and should be sent to the AAA President,  the committee’s Executive Committee Liaison, and staff liaison, Barbara Gutierrez (barbara.gutierrez@aaahq.org).
