Policies and Procedures
Manual
General and Financial
The American Accounting Association through its many programs seeks to
promote worldwide excellence in accounting education, research, and practice.
Sections and Regions provide the most valued AAA services to many members.
These services include the full range of meetings, hard-copy and electronic
publications, awards, peer review, faculty development opportunities, and other
activities. AAA services are also provided through committees and other
structures.
This administrative manual sets forth recommended methods for Section,
Region, Group, and other members working with Association staff to support
these varied activities.
One of the AAAs strengths is the degree of autonomy exercised by
Sections and Regions, within broad policy guidelines set by the Executive
Committee and Council.
This manual is intended to provide guidance and information to assist
members in meeting the responsibilities of their volunteer offices. The true
value of Section, Region, and other Association programs and activities comes
from the contributions of these program chairs, editors, volunteers, and
officers of Sections, Regions, and the AAA as a whole.
Where this manual is unclear or omits coverage, please let us know. The AAA
headquarters exists to help you design and implement successful programs and
activities, so we are very interested to learn of ways we might improve
services for Section and Region leaders.
