Effective Learning Strategies Sessions
These sessions showcase ideas, research, strategies and education innovations that support learning in accounting. The interactive format provides opportunities for presenters to engage colleagues in the exchange of ideas and resources. Members interested in sharing learning-related interests and projects, scholarship of teaching projects, and educational innovations are encouraged to submit proposals that will be reviewed and selected by members Teaching and Learning Events Team appointed by the AAA President.
The Bea Sanders/AICPA Innovation in Teaching Award is selected from the pool of accepted submissions to the American Accounting Association's Effective Learning Strategies Session. The award is designed to recognize and disseminate successful practices in the first course sequence in accounting that pique students' interest in accounting and pursuit of the CPA profession as a career. The award recognizes changes in content segment or a subset of skills rather that a programmatic or curricular change.
The FSA/Mark Chain Innovation in Graduate Teaching Award annually recognizes exceptional graduate accounting course practices and is selected from the pool of accepted submissions to the American Accounting Association's Effective Learning Strategies Session. This award was created in 2007 to honor Mark Chain for his distinguished service to the professions of accounting and accounting education and for significant contributions to the development of the Federation.
