You may reserve a room by calling the Sheraton Crescent Hotel at (800) 423-4126. Be sure to mention that you are with the American Taxation Association to get our special rate of $139 single or double occupancy (plus tax).  We had to guarantee a minimum number of guest rooms to get this rate (the ATA must pay for unused rooms).  Therefore, we strongly recommend that you plan to stay at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel and that you make your reservations early.  A block of rooms will be held until January 25, 2001.  However, we cannot guarantee that any additional rooms will be available in the hotel once our block of rooms is sold out, even if the block is sold out before the cut off date.  So please don't wait until the last minute to make your reservations.

Checking In/Out of the Hotel

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is 12:00 noon. Although your room may be ready before the normal check-in time, this cannot be guaranteed.  If you arrive early and your room is not available, the hotel will provide storage for your luggage.  You may wish to arrive the night before the meeting and/or stay the night after the meeting to enjoy the hotel's fine facilities and those of the Phoenix area. The hotel will honor our special rate from Tuesday, February 13 through Tuesday, February 20 (subject to availability).

Getting Around Phoenix

Sheraton Crescent Hotel is between 15 and 25 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport under normal driving conditions. The Sheraton Crescent Hotel does not operate a shuttle service of its own. For most attendees, the best way to transfer from the airport to the hotel and back is via SuperShuttle (1-800-BLUEVAN, www.supershuttle.com). No reservation is needed to get from the airport to the hotel, but a reservation is needed for returning from the hotel to the airport. The fare is $12 per person each way. Groups of seven (e.g., possibly on return from the hotel to the airport) can hire an entire van for the trip for $60. The shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes. At Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, SuperShuttle is located at curbside outside of Terminal 2 and at the center median outside of Terminals 3 and 4.

What to See and Do in Phoenix

Phoenix weather in February is generally fantastic, perfect for golf, tennis and swimming. The hotel provides complimentary transportation to MetroCenter, Arizona’s largest shopping and entertainment complex. MetroCenter offers 25 restaurants and hundreds of shops. Castle ‘n Coasters amusement park features a 90-foot-high corkscrew roller coaster, miniature golf, bumper boats and an array of games. Additional information about Phoenix attractions can be found at Fodors.
