Call for Papers

FIFTH AIS RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

February 19–21, 1998
Scottsdale, Arizona

The fifth AIS Research Symposium will again take place at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center Old Town Scottsdale on February 19–21, 1998. The symposium is sponsored by the Information Systems/Management Advisory Services Section of the AAA and the journal Advances in Accounting Information Systems. The symposium will be hosted by Arizona State University West.

The symposium uses a format centering around acceptance of a small number of papers for the main program, permitting time for extensive discussion during each presentation. A forum session is also included in the symposium venue to enable small group discussion on papers at an earlier stage of development (including advanced stage working papers). All accepted papers for the main program will be published in Advances in Accounting Information Systems at the authors’ prerogative. The symposium will continue its tradition of broadly defining accounting information systems research to accommodate the broad array of interests among our participants. This includes an interest that goes beyond the traditional AIS research areas to research investigating the impact of information technologies on individuals, organizations and society.

Four copies of all submissions should be forwarded to Ken Harmon to be received by September 15, 1997. Authors should follow the style guidelines for Advances in Accounting Information Systems.

Submissions should include a cover letter that clearly states whether the authors wish to have their paper included in Advances, if accepted, whether they wish to have their paper also considered for the forum session, and/or if they prefer the paper only be considered for the forum.

 Submission deadline: September 15, 1997

Notification of acceptance: December 1, 1997

Registration deadline: December 15, 1997

Revised paper deadline: January 15, 1998
